Williams

Evelyn Roether, the director of the Watershed Council is dedicated to the recovery of the endangered coho salmon, from years of over fishing and habitat destruction. The council helps farmers to keep streams and waterways healthy by planting trees that in turn provide suitable habitat for young salmon headed to sea.

Lois White runs the White Wolf Sanctuary along the central coast of Oregon. Here Lois takes in injured, abandoned or orphaned white arctic wolves. On the 60 acres of the sanctuary the wolves are able to run free and are never kept in cages. The sanctuary’s goals are to provide and consistently improve conditions for rescued Arctic wolves at the sanctuary, protect and preserve habitats in the wild, elect public officials who actively protect wildlife, and work toward long term recovery of wolves in the wild.
